Social Welfare Society is the youth wing of Pakistan Red Crescent Society and is registered with social welfare department of Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa It is a non political, non profit organization run by the students of Khyber Medical College, Peshawar under the guidance of senior staff members. Our main missions and objectives are to give financial assistance to the poor patients and students, to arrange blood for the poor and needy patients, provide free medication for the poor patients, arrange free medical camps in the remote areas of K.P.K including the tribal areas, give scholarships to the deserving students, arrange programs for blood grouping and collection of blood donation in local colleges, take on the tasks of health education, that is, to promote public awareness about serious and grave social problems like Smoking, AIDS, Drugs and Narcotics, Environmental problems like pollution and population explosion etc,arrange programs, seminars, lectures and symposium for character building of the medical students and the general public. Social Welfare Society works on “Self Help Basis”. It is not funded by Government or any other source on regular basis. The society is run on donations from its well wishers and collection by the efforts of its workers. Accounts are maintained under the supervision of Chairman of the society. Accounts are examined at the end of the tenure of every General Secretary by Chartered Accountant.
